I chose Bruce Bennett
because he changed the game of hockey as we know it. Bruce was born in march 12
1955 he went to W.T Clarke High School and C.W Post School of Professional
Accountancy where he excelled and was the top student in his classes and got a job
with a local junior hockey team and kept on going until he became the biggest photographer
in sports history. Bruce and Wayne “the great one”gretzky and even was invited
to the 1989 Pittsburgh penguins Stanley cup celebration party not as a
photographer as a friend.
His most
famous picture is probably either the one of the 1979 Montreal lifting up bob
gainey who is also lifting up lord Stanley himself.
Or his other famous
one is the one of the 2010 gold medal game in the Olympics when Sidney Crosby
scored one of the most famous goal in Canadian hockey history.
Bruce has taken some
amazing shots in his time that is why he is the greatest photographer in sports
history and probably in general the best. It has been said by a lot of athletes
that he is the most respectful and respected in the business. He even got some
of hockey’s biggest names in hockey history such as Martin Brodeur and Wayne
Gretzky to forward his book which is a great way to start a book Bruce
said ‘My passion for the game and my passion for photography is what’s driven
me to ensure that I maximize every opportunity I am given to shoot”. When
dynamic duo comes to mind who do you think of mini and Mickey Mouse, Shaq and Penny
Hardaway but when I think of duos I think of le crème of la crop super Mario Lemuix
and Jaromir Jagr and Bruce snapped the most famous picture of them after their
2nd straight cup.
While I am on the topic
of the Stanley cup. Lanny McDonald is one of the iron men of the national
hockey league. In his 21st and final season he finally won his 1st
Stanley cup with the Calgary flames and his excitement was beyond words
My favorite team in
the nhl is the Philadelphia flyers and they have the biggest rivalry in sports
probably and after the infamous brawl between them and this is the end result
Chris Drury was a
player that would do anything for his team to win one day in the playoffs round
2 he went down and blocked a shot with his face breaking his jaw but continuing
and not even missing a shift showing that hockey players are the ultimate
warriors.
Glass is a strong
piece to get hit into a big hit and bam It is broken. Here is a photo too see
how dope it really looks.
Hockey is a sport
that has everything like the finesse of soccer toughness of rugby and set up of
basketball and it’s a great sport including the big ol hits
Thx for watching here
are some other dope pics
